BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The 2021 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC)-East Region schedule changes again for the weekend of Saturday-Sunday, February 27-28, as No. 9-ranked the United States Naval Academy welcomes No. 10 Bucknell University, George Washington University and La Salle University to Scott Natatorium in Annapolis, Md., for six games.
The schedule is a change from the previously released seven-game slate with the Navy-vs.-Bucknell game penciled in for Sunday, February 28, being canceled as the two teams met twice last week.
The contests make up for missed games during the regular season between the Midshipmen, Bison and Colonials, while MAWPC-East Region, Northern Section competitor La Salle picks up meetings against Navy, Bucknell and George Washington prior to a MAWPC-East, Northern Section, regular season concluding game on Tuesday, March 2 at Fordham University in the Bronx, N.Y.
Action commences on Saturday, February 27, at 10:00 a.m. as Navy and George Washington clash for the second time following an 8-2 season-opening victory by the Midshipmen at The St. James Aquatic Center in Springfield, Va., on Friday, February 12.
Bucknell will play in back-to-back games as the Bison face La Salle (1:00 p.m.) and George Washington (4:00 p.m.) prior to the host Midshipmen returning to the water for a 6:00 p.m. game against the Explorers of La Salle. The Navy-La Salle game time is adjusted from the previously announced 6:30 p.m. opening sprint.
On Sunday, February 28, George Washington will compete in a pair of games as the Colonials tangle with La Salle (11:00 a.m.) and Bucknell (2:00 p.m.).
