ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Sean O’Boyle (Sr., Steilacoom, Wash./Curtis Senior) was among 26 varsity sport athletes who earned Graduate with Distinction honors as the United States Naval Academy held the institution’s 2025 graduation ceremony on Friday, May 23.
Those who garner Graduate with Distinction laurels finish in the top-10 percent of the graduating class in Overall Order of Merit, which includes academics, military performance, conduct and physical education standing. There were 106 members of the Class of 2025 who earned the accolade. Sixteen varsity teams had at least one graduate among the honorees.
O’Boyle – who finished fourth in his class – is among eight varsity athletes to rank among the top-15 graduates. This list also includes Valedictorian Owen O’Malley, lightweight rowing (first), Tenlea Radack, women’s rowing (third); Tori DiCarlo, women’s lacrosse (11th); Nathan Broomfield, offshore sailing (12th); Zack Peng, men’s swimming and diving (13th); Harrison Kaplan, heavyweight rowing (14th) and Emma Frommelt, women’s soccer (15th).
