PRINCETON, N.J. — A total of 34 Ivy League standouts – including six water polo athletes – earned Academic All-Ivy honors as part of the 2022-23 At-Large Team that recognizes top student-athletes in non-Ivy League sponsored sports.
Institutions nominated one student-athlete from each of its non-Ivy League sponsored sports – women’s archery, women’s equestrian, sprint football, women’s gymnastics, women’s polo, men’s polo, women’s lightweight rowing, women’s rugby, coed sailing, women’s skiing, men’s skiing, men’s volleyball, women’s water polo, men’s water polo – to be included on the Academic All-Ivy At-Large team. Student-athletes must be in good academic standing to be eligible for the award.
Among water polo selections, Brown, Harvard and Princeton each nominated one men’s water polo and women’s water polo athlete.
Brown’s Leo Berkman ’23 (Orinda, Calif./Miramonte) and Claire Pisani ’23 (Redwood City, Calif./Castileja School) were honored, along with Alex Tsotadze ’23 (Menlo Park, Calif./Sacred Heart Preparatory) and Zoe Banks ’23 (Palo Alto, Calif./Henry M. Gunn) of Harvard. Keller Maloney ’23 (Los Angeles, Calif./Harvard-Westlake) of Princeton’s Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Champion men’s team and Kaila Carroll (Sr., Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) of the Tigers’ Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I women’s program were also recognized.

Finished the season fourth on the team with 39 goals … Was fifth on the team in assists (21), tied for fourth in steals (23) and fourth in exclusions drawn (21) - Claire Pisani, women’s water polo (Science, Technology, and Sociology)
Led the team with 68 ejections drawn and was second on the team with 46 goals … Added 19 steals, seven assists and two field blocks

Captain of the team for the second straight year … Made 150 saves, added two assists, and 9 steals … Set career-high with a 19-save shutout over Santa Clara … 2x CWPA Defensive Player of the Week … CWPA All-Tournament first-team … Honorable Mention All-America … Named to the Cutino Award Watch List.

Fourth leading scorer on team that reached NCAA Semifinals … Scored 41 goals and added 24 assists with 26 steals.
