BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Tufts University goalkeeper Hayden Collins (Jr., Greenwich, Conn./Brunswick School) posted over 20 saves and assists on eight goals during a 3-1 weekend for the Jumbos at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vt., during the final weekend of 2023 Men’s Collegiate Club North Atlantic Division regular season action. For his performance, Collins is lauded as the October 16 Men’s Collegiate Club North Atlantic Division Player of the Week.
He helped Tufts dispatch Middlebury College (13-3 W), Bowdoin College (13-8 W) and Colby College (5-0 W Forfeit) during the weekend to accompany a 7-6 loss to host and division regular season champion Vermont. The 3-1 mark completed a 6-2 regular season record for the Jumbos as the team finished behind only Vermont (8-0) in the division standings and clinched a spot in the Colonial/North Atlantic Divisions “A” Championship slated for Saturday-Sunday, October 21-22, at Bowdoin in Brunswick, Maine.
Facing Vermont, he posted 11 saves – including a five-meter penalty shot – to keep Tufts in the contest facing the Catamounts until the final moments of the contest.
