BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Sam He (Jr., San Diego, Calif./La Jolla Country Day School) of the University of Connecticut scored nine goals with an assist, four steals and a field block during a 2-1 weekend for the Huskies at the 2023 Colonial Division/North Atlantic Divisions “A” Championship at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, to claim recognition as the October 23 Men’s Collegiate Club Colonial Division Player of the Week.
Following a 5-0 forfeit victory versus Amherst College on Saturday, October 21, the Actuarial Science/Finance major kept Connecticut in the game until the squad fell to Tufts University of the North Atlantic Division by a 19-13 score in the semifinals. Nursing a shooting hand injury on Sunday, October 22, he helped power Connecticut to a 14-13 defeat of host Bowdoin in the Colonial/North Atlantic Divisions “A” Championship Third Place game.
Due to rating as the highest finishing Colonial Division team at the combined championship, the Huskies claimed their inaugural Colonial Division Championship as the squad wrapped up the 2023 campaign with a 9-2 mark.
