ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The Big Ten Conference office released its Spring 2022 Academic All-Big Ten Team with 220 University of Michigan student-athletes – including 15 women’s water polo players – earning recognition for their work in the classroom.
Criteria for making the Academic All-Big Ten team includes being in at least their second academic year at their institution and maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
The breakdown of the 237 Michigan student-athletes on the list is 17 from baseball, seven from men’s golf, seven from women’s golf, 29 from men’s lacrosse, 22 from women’s lacrosse, 34 from rowing, 12 from softball, six from men’s tennis, seven from women’s tennis, 33 from men’s track and field, 31 from women’s track and field and 15 from water polo.
