BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The University of Strathclyde is offering partial athletic scholarships for women’s water polo players wishing to complete graduate courses commencing in the Fall of 2025.

  • The University of Strathclyde is based in the heart of Glasgow, a friendly, vibrant and cosmopolitan city located in the north of the UK.

Study:

  • The University of Strathclyde, which was named Scottish University of the Year (Daily Mail, 2024), offers over 200 Graduate (MSc/MBA/LLM) courses across four Faculties:
    • the Faculty of Science, which houses Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences
    • the Engineering Faculty, which is the largest Engineering department in Scotland
    • Strathclyde Business School, which is just one of 129 Triple Accredited (AMBA, AACSB and EQUIS) Institutions in the World
    • the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, which encompasses Strathclyde Law School
  • Unlike studying in the US, Graduate degrees in the UK are completed in 1-year on a full-time basis.
  • Depending on the course, tuition fees range from £21,550 – £38,950 ($28,870 – $52,193).

Play:

  • Water Polo is one of six University Varsity sports at Strathclyde, and the Women’s team compete in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) Prem league, which is the equivalent of a NCAA Div 1 Conference.
  • Furthermore, the Women’s Water Polo team were back-to-back BUCS National Trophy Champions in 2023-24 and 2024-25.

Eligibility:

  • UK Universities are regulated by different eligibility rules than the US. As a result, former NCAA athletes are eligible to compete for the University regardless of the number of years that they have previously played college sport in the US.

Financial Aid:

  • In addition to partial athletic scholarships (up to 40% tuition fee discounts), the University of Strathclyde is approved by the US Department of Education to allow US students to access Federal Aid through the William D Ford Federal Direct Loan program.

Academic Entry Requirements:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Water Polo Scholarship Selection Criteria:

  • NCAA Division I roster player.

Recruiting Questionnaire:

  • Water Polo athletes interested in expressing an interest in the University of Strathclyde Women’ Water Polo program should initially complete the recruiting questionnaire by midnight (British Standard Time) on Sunday, August 10 or 7:00 p.m. Eastern/4:00 p.m. Pacific on Saturday, August 9.
