LOS ANGELES, Calif. — USA Water Polo announced the referees nominated to officiate World Aquatics (formerly FINA) level events in 2023. Featuring referees with Olympic and World Championship experience, this group has whistled water polo at the highest level. Assignments for various events will be determined prior to the start of competition.
Among the selected officials, Joe Peila, Scott Voltz and Alex Stankevitch – who called Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA)/Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC)/Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) events over the past several seasons – were named FINAL Referees, while Hadi Farid claimed a spot as a PANAM Technical Water Polo Committee (TWPC) member. Further, CWPA/MAWPC/NWPC official Michael Goldenberg was selected as a 2023 FINA Representative.
