ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — The 2025 USA Water Polo Division III Collegiate Water Polo National Championship on Saturday-Sunday, May 3-4, at Augustana College’s Anne Greve Lund Natatorium in Rock Island, Ill., will be streamed live on a pay-per-view basis at Overnght.com .

The four-game championship weekend featuring Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Champion/No. 24-ranked/Division III No. 1 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, SCIAC runner-up/Division III No. 2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Champion/Division III No. 7/host Augustana and CWPA Division III runner-up/Division III No. 8 Washington & Jefferson College marks the fourth women’s Division III Collegiate Water Polo National Championship with prior events at Pomona-Pitzer (2022, 2024) in Claremont, Calif., and Augsutana (2023).  The championship was slated to begin in 2021 but was eliminated as only a portion of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III institutions elected to field teams due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Augustana – which defeated Washington & Jefferson College by a 10-7 score on April 13 for the program’s third consecutive CWPA Division Championship (2023, 2024, 2025) – will make the program’s fourth appearance in the fourth year of the USAWP Division III Championship with its inaugural appearance in 2022 coming as the CWPA runner-up.  Following the cancellation of the 2021 event due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the Vikings qualified in 2022 (at Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, Fourth Place), 2023 (at Augustana, Third Place) and 2024 (at Pomona-Pitzer, Third Place) along with Austin College (2022 – Third Place; 2023 – Fourth Place; 2024 – Fourth Place).

W&J earns the program’s inaugural trip to either the man’s and/or women’s USA Division III Championship to become the sixth institution to earn a berth to the women’s event by joining Augustana (2022, 2023, 2024, 2025), Austin College (2022, 2023, 2024), three-time champion Pomona-Pitzer (2022, 2023, 2024), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (2023, 2024) and Whittier College (2022).

Pomona-Pitzer and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps earned the way into the championship field by qualifying for the SCIAC Championship game where the Sagehens manged the Athenas by a 12-7 score to claim the conference crown on Saturday, April 26.

In the history of the women’s championship, Pomona-Pitzer (2022 – 1st; 2023 – 1st; 2024 – 1st), Whittier (2022 – 2nd) and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (2023 – 2nd, 2024 – 2nd) have made the title game, while Austin (2022 – 3rd ; 2023- 4th; 2024 – 4th) and Augustana (2022 – 4th ; 2023 – 3rd; 2024 – 3rd) have contested the Third Place game each year.
