BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — If you have a high level of enthusiasm, energy, and love for all things water polo, this might be the position for you! Wesleyan University is seeking a patient, skilled, and energetic individual to serve as a part-time coach of the school’s men’s and women’s club water polo teams. Consider becoming a part-time coach and spend some time with an enthusiastic and eager group of athletes.
We are looking for someone who can help new and experienced players develop confidence and skill, as well as foster a team environment that is respectful, cohesive, and most importantly, fun. We want a passionate water polo coach with contagious enthusiasm to help us recruit a loyal following and grow our exciting club.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach players strategy, tactics and skills, taking into account experience levels
- Create specific training programs that are engaging for all levels for both conditioning and skill-building to increase athletic performance and team confidence
- Collaborate with the captains to develop a team of individuals who respect each other and the sport
- Effectively communicate any problems or concerns with the captains, and welcome comments, feedback, and questions
- Clearly express ideas and goals to players, give direct and constructive feedback, reinforce positivity, and acknowledge successes
JOB SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Personal experience with water polo, preferably in a leadership role (captainship or a previous coaching role)
- Strong leadership ability and a positive attitude
- Solid understanding of the rules and regulations of water polo
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in sports coaching
