BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Former Bucknell University head men’s and women’s water polo coach John Zeigler returned to his alma mater in October 2018 as a Senior Development Officer for Senior Gifts.

As head of the men’s program from 2000 until 2008, Zeigler compiled a career mark of 134-148 while taking his team to the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Eastern Championships every season. In 2007, the team won 20 games and finished the year ranked 19th nationally. In eight years at the helm of the women’s program, Zeigler went 139-118, including a school record 23 wins in both 2005 and 2006.  He resigned following the 2007 men’s season to practice law.

A practicing attorney from December 2007 until returning to assume the development position with Bucknell, Zeigler has a long history with the Bison dating back to his time as an athlete.

A 1991 graduate of Bucknell and a 1996 graduate of the Widener University School of Law, Zeigler practiced law from 1996 until 2000 when he assumed the Bison’s head water polo coaching position.
