ST. PAUL, Minn. — Washington & Jefferson College closed out a Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III weekend at Macalester College by picking up a 13-9 victory over Carthage College.

Both teams came out firing offensively in the final game of the weekend.

Four different Presidents during the first quarter. With the score evened up at two goals apiece, W&J recorded back-to-back scores by Laura Anthony and Emma Halle to take the advantage. A late score by Hallie Ratcliff made it 5-3 Presidents after eight minutes.

Three-straight goals to open the second quarter swelled the W&J lead to 8-3. Halle notched back-to-back goals before Ratcliff found the back of the net. Carthage countered with three of the next four goals to trim the deficit to 9-6 at halftime.

W&J tacked on a pair of goals and shut out Carthage during the third quarter. Ratcliff and Didovich scored during a 59-second span for the lone goals of the stanza.

Anthony and Sydney Neumann scored during the fourth quarter as W&J finished off the victory.

Halle and Ratcliff both netted four goals in the win for W&J. Sky Wald made a pair of saves during the first half and Alliey Cunningham recorded eight saves in the second half.
