BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — A total of 143 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (NWPC) student-athletes were honored on the Fall 2020/Winter 2021 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Scholar-Athlete and Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic Teams.

Divided into three teams based on cumulative grade point average, league members garnered 52 Outstanding (4.00-3.71), 62 Superior (3.70-3.41) and 29 Excellent (3.40-3.20) honors as 13 institutions submitted nominees for the team.

In addition, all 13 schools earned Team honors led by Johns Hopkins University (3.62).  Connecticut College (3.55), La Salle University (3.53), Salem University (3.53), Fordham University (3.44), Wagner College (3.35), Bucknell University (3.32), Mercyhurst University (3.311), Gannon University (3.30), Washington & Jefferson College (3.30), George Washington University (3.23) and the United States Naval Academy (3.08) also claimed recognition for academic excellence.

In total, 216 student-athletes that compete in a Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) administered league earned recognition as the Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) collected 73 (31 Outstanding, 31 Superior, 11 Excellent) laurels.

To be selected, student-athletes must be active participants on a team and a full-time student at the institution which nominated them. Freshmen through graduate students are eligible for the award.

Nominees must achieve a 3.2 cumulative Grade Point Average or higher based on the most recent grades at the time of competition.
