BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — A total of 169 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) student-athletes were honored on the Spring 2021 CWPA Scholar-Athlete and Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic Teams.

Divided into three teams based on cumulative grade point average, league members garnered 68 Outstanding (4.00-3.71), 72 Superior (3.70-3.41) and 29 Excellent (3.40-3.20) honors as 15 institutions submitted nominees for the team.

In addition, all 13 schools earned team honors led by Harvard University (3.73).  Carthage College (3.71) was the highest Division III program, while Connecticut College (3.70), Brown University (3.68), Macalester College (3.63) and Princeton University (3.58) also topped the 3.50 plateau.  Austin College (3.49), Bucknell University (3.48), the University of Michigan (3.43), Penn State Behrend (3.43), George Washington University (3.39), Saint Francis University (3.27), Washington & Jefferson College (3.26), Grove City College (3.06) and Mount St. Mary’s University (3.03) also broke the 3.0 plateau to garner accolades.

To be selected, student-athletes must be active participants on a team and a full-time student at the institution which nominated them. Freshmen through graduate students are eligible for the award.

Nominees must achieve a 3.2 cumulative Grade Point Average or higher based on the most recent grades at the time of competition.
