BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — 17 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) women’s water polo athletes were named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® At-Large Division I and III Teams.

The 2024 Academic All-District® Men’s and Women’s At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. A total of 72 women’s water players at Divisions I, II and III (40 Division I, 10 Division II, 22 Division III) earned Academic All-District® status.

Women’s At-Large Academic All-America® First, Second and Third Team honorees will be announced on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

The CWPA places seven athletes on the Division I squad as Brown University’s Sophie Golub (Sr., Woodside, Calif./Menlo School), Bucknell University’s Isabelle Monaghan (Sr., Lawrenceville, N.J./Lawrenceville School), Harvard University’s Ruby Hodge (So., San Juan Capistrano, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic), Princeton University’s Kaila Carroll (Sr., Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich), Saint Francis University’s Caylah Olay (So., Redondo Beach, Calif./Redondo Union) and Emese Szucs (Sr., Budapest, Hungary) along with the University of Michigan’s Kata Utassy (Sr., Budapest, Hungary/Konyves Kalman Secondary School) as a total of 40 women’s water polo players garnered recognition on the list.

On the Division III list, 10 CWPA athletes receive accolades as Augustana College’s Charlotte Newport (Jr., Baytown, Texas/Ross St. Sterling), Ocean Akau (Jr., Pana’ewa, Hawaii/Kamehameha) and Annie Opal Dickson (Jr., Imperial Beach, Calif./Mar Vista) are joined by Austin College’s Cory McGrath (Sr., Flower Mound, Texas/Marcus); Connecticut College’s Sarah Franco (Sr., Weston, Conn./Weston); Grove City College’s Kiley Sill (So., Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) and Lea Steen (So., Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg); and Macalester College’s Jess Palmer-Sammons (So., Half Moon Bay, Calif./Half Moon Bay), Kendall Coney (Jr., League City, Texas/Clear Creek) and Sian Lewandowski (So., Kentwood, Mich./East Kentwood).
