2018 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference Championship Schedule

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Following a vote of the league’s Governance Council, the seeding and schedule for the 2018 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Championship at Fordham University’s Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center in the Bronx, N.Y. on Friday-Sunday, November 16-18, are released by the league office. The MAWPC Championship will determine the league’s automatic qualifier for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Men’s Water Polo Championship.

Per league policy, the seven East Region teams (Bucknell University, Fordham, George Washington University, Johns Hopkins University, La Salle University, the United States Naval Academy, Wagner College) are allocated seeds based on their order of finish during the regular season.  The Governance Council selects where the MAWPC-West Champion Bearcats of McKendree University fit into the field with the following seedings:

  1. Bucknell University
  2. George Washington University
  3. Wagner College
  4. Fordham University
  5. The United States Naval Academy
  6. Johns Hopkins University
  7. McKendree University
  8. La Salle University

For fans making the trip to Fordham for the championship weekend, general admission ticket prices are $10 per day and $25 for a weekend pass to the games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Fordham faculty, staff, administration and students, along with senior citizens, receive a discounted rate of $5 per day and $12 for a weekend pass.

Fans who can not make the trip to Fordham will be able to follow all the action online as the MAWPC Championship will be live-streamed by the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Multimedia Department on a pay-per-view basis via the league’s broadcast platform on Stretch Internet. Fans can access the streaming coverage by CLICKING HERE/visiting CWPATV.com and signing up for either individual games ($10 per game) or a weekend pass ($25) that allows unlimited viewing on the tournament throughout the weekend.
