BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — 202 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) athletes are among 851 student-athletes named to the 2025 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic list.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete’s head coach must be a member of the ACWPC, while the athlete must attain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher. Divided into three teams based on cumulative grade point average (GPA), 396 athletes garnered Outstanding (4.00-3.71), 319 Superior (3.70-3.41) and 136 Excellent (3.40-3.20) recognition.
Among CWPA institutions, the league claimed 84 Outstanding, 80 Superior and 38 Excellent honors from all 16 Division I and III schools competing in women’s water polo.
Further, a total of 59 schools posted Team Honors for achieving GPAs over 3.0.
The CWPA leads the way among institutions earning recognition as the top three schools for GPA – Connecticut College (3.77), Macalester College (3.76) and Saint Francis University (3.73) – are league members. Harvard University (3.71 – 6th-tied), the University of Michigan (3.65 – 12th-tied), Brown University (3.59 – 21st -tied), Princeton University (3.50 – 26th-tied), Augustana College (3.48 – 29th), Mercyhurst University (3.46 – 30th-tied), Grove City College (3.43 – 34th-tied), Carthage College (3.33 – 47th-tied), Austin College (3.24 – 51st), Wheaton College (3.23 – 53rd), Penn State Behrend (3.18 – 54th), Bucknell University (3.17 – 55th) and Washington & Jefferson College (3.1 – 57th-tied).
