BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Following the conference championships, new teams reign at No. 1 in the National Top 20 and Division III Top 10 Polls with the University of Southern California and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges leading the nation as the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the official 2025 Men’s Varsity National Top 20, Division III Top 10, Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Top Five and Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Top Five Polls for Week 13/November 26.

MAWPC champion Fordham University remains at No. 1 in the final MAWPC Top Five, while NWPC Champion Princeton University completes the conference season in the lead position of the NWPC Top Five.

Voted on by a panel of coaches, the polls are compiled and released on Wednesday during each week of the season through the week following the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship.

2025 Men’s Varsity National Top 20 (Week 13/November 26)

The University of Southern California returns to the top of the national scene as the Trojans reclaim the lead position in the Week 13/November 26 National Men’s Varsity Top 20 Poll.

USC (99 points) moves back to No. 1 following a one-week absence as the Trojans fell behind the University of California-Los Angeles (96 points).  However, the Trojans flip the rankings as USC knocked off UCLA by a 14-11 count over the weekend for the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) title.

Stanford University (91 points), the University of California (84 points) and Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Champion Fordham University (81 points) remain at No. 3-to-5, respectively, with West Coast Conference Conference San Jose State University (74 points), Big West Conference Champion the University of California-Davis (71 points), Long Beach State University (63 points), California Baptist University (58 points) and Pepperdine University (55 points) rearranging to rate at No. 6-to-10.

University of the Pacific (51 points) slips to No. 11 and Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) champion Princeton University (46 points) ascends to No. 12, while Loyola Marymount University (41 points), the University of California-Santa Barbara (35 points), the University of California-San Diego (32 points) and the University of California-Irvine (25 points) reposition to No. 13-to-16.

Santa Clara University (22 points), Harvard University (15points) and Brown University (8 points) remain at No. 17-to-19 with George Washington University (6 points) cracking the Top 20 in the final position.

2025 Men’s Varsity Division III Top 10 (Week 13/November 26)

The small college scene has a new king this week as Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges – which knocked off previously top-billed Pomona-Pitzer Colleges by a 13-11 score over the weekend to claim the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) title – becomes the top squad in the Week 13/November 26 Men’s Varsity Division III Top 10 Poll.

The Stags (100 points) – which stands as a unanimous No. 1 pick – are followed by Pomona-Pitzer (95 points) in a Top 10 which experiences radical movement following the SCIAC, Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) and Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Championships.

Whittier College (89 points) – which rates as one of two teams to retain its ranking from last week – remains at No. 3 with the University of Redlands (83 points) and Occidental College (78 points) moving up to No. 4 and 5.

Chapman University (71 points) takes over at No. 6, California Lutheran University (70 points) slips to No. 7, NWPC Fourth Place squad the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (64 points) clambers to No. 8 with MPSF-Eastern Champion Augustana College (63) and runner-up Johns Hopkins University (62 points) completing the Top 10.

A five-time (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025) Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Champion, Fordham University concludes the conference season at No. 1 in the Week 13/November 26/Final MAWPC Top Five Poll.

A unanimous No. 1 selection after rolling to the team’s record fifth consecutive title, the Rams (100 points) are followed by George Washington University (94 points), the United States Naval Academy (91 points), Wagner College (84 points) and Bucknell University (86 points).

Six-time (2018, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025) NWPC champion Princeton University concludes the 2025 conference campaign at No. 1 in the Week 13/November 26/Final Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Top Five.

Princeton (100 points), three-time (2016, 2017, 2019) Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Champion Harvard University (95 points) and Brown University (90 points) stay at No. 1-to-3, while the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (85points) rises to No. 4.

Long Island University (64 points) moves from the ranks of unranked to No. 5 in the final NWPC voting.
