BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The 2025 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) and Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Sports Information Director of the Year awards will be released during the week of Sunday, May 31.
Selected by the leagues’ Director of Communications, the SID of the Year award is presented to individuals who “have achieved notable excellence in the field of water polo communications during the past academic year.”
The NWPC honor will mark the eighth award bestowed exclusively to Northeast Water Polo Conference institution following the division of the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) men’s teams into the MAWPC and NWPC during the Summer of 2016. An award to the NWPC SID was not presented during the 2020-21 academic year due to multiple teams electing not to compete as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since the commencement of the SID of the Year program, Joanna Dwyer (Princeton University, 2024), Lauren Dellipoali (Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s, 2022, 2023), Conor McGorry (Harvard University, 2021), Max Berkowitz (MIT, 2019), Samantha Ralphs (Harvard, 2018), Nicholas Dow (Brown University, 2016 & 2017 NWPC; 2014 CWPA Northern Division), Meg Kelly (Harvard, 2015 CWPA Northern Division), David Gansell (St. Francis College Brooklyn, 2008 & 2013 CWPA Northern Division), Dan Scotchmer/Brett Moore (Harvard University, 2012 CWPA Northern Division), Scott Kwiatowski (Fordham University, 2010 & 2011 CWPA Northern Division) and Lyndsey Maurer (Brown University, 2009 CWPA Northern Division) among the recipients of CWPA Northern Division/NWPC Sports Information Director of the Year status.
The MAWPC award will be the 10th honor bestowed exclusively to MAWPC institutions following the division of the CWPA men’s teams into the MAWPC and Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) during the Summer of 2016.
