BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA), Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) and Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) wish all of the leagues’ teams, student-athletes, coaches, support personnel, officials and fans a safe, healthy and prosperous holiday season.

Although 2020 has been one for the record books, it is important to recall what makes water polo – and especially competition on the collegiate level – unique.

It is because of the efforts of the seventh player on the bench, the official who works a single game on a Wednesday night  and the parent who drove their child to water polo practice early in the morning and picked them up after work that the sport of water polo continues to thrive.  We thank you for your commitment to your team – either varsity or club, your fellow water polo players – both in the same cap color and those on the other bench, as the efforts of each player, official, coach and fans has aided the sport to grow on the collegiate level.

A coach in another ball sport summarized this thought when he stated, “The achievements of an organization are the results of the combined effort of each individual” – Vince Lombardi.

Enjoy the holidays and thank you for your efforts over the past 12 months.
