BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — A total of 73 Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) student-athletes were honored on the Fall 2020/Winter 2021 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Scholar-Athlete and Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic Teams.

Divided into three teams based on cumulative grade point average, league members garnered 31 Outstanding (4.00-3.71), 31 Superior (3.70-3.41) and 11 Excellent (3.40-3.20) honors as six institutions submitted nominees for the team.

In addition, all six schools earned Team honors led by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology which posted a national best grade point average of 3.78.  Harvard University (3.696), Brown University (3.65), St. Francis College Brooklyn (3.585), Princeton University (3.34) and  Iona College (3.15) all notched the award for recording Grade Point Averages in excess of 2.75.

In total, 216 student-athletes that compete in a Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) administered league earned recognition as the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) collected 143 (52 Outstanding, 62 Superior, 29 Excellent) laurels.

To be selected, student-athletes must be active participants on a team and a full-time student at the institution which nominated them. Freshmen through graduate students are eligible for the award.

Nominees must achieve a 3.2 cumulative Grade Point Average or higher based on the most recent grades at the time of competition.
