2025 Men’s Collegiate Club Rocky Mountain Division Schedule
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) announces a change to the schedule for the Men’s Collegiate Club Rocky Mountain Division Championship on Saturday-Sunday, November 1-2, at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, N.M. On Wednesday, October 29, it was discovered that due to the scoresheets not properly listing 5-0 forfeits by the University of Colorado “B” at the final regular season tournament at the Kearns Oquirrh Park Fitness Center on Saturday-Sunday, October 18-19, the division standings were incorrect. Following the listing of Colorado “B” as forfeiting the program’s four games, the Rocky Mountain standings change as the New Mexico and Colorado “B” both now stand at 2-6 to tie for the No. 6 position for the division championship on Saturday-Sunday, November 1-2, at New Mexico. Per league rules – and despite Colorado “B” defeating New Mexico by a 13-6 score in their regular season meeting – New Mexico wins the tiebreaker due to Colorado “B’ forfeiting games.
The change impacts the sequence of games for the division championship as New Mexico takes over at No. 6 and Colorado “B” drops to No. 7.
Competition at the Rocky Mountain Division Championship begins at 11:45 a.m. Mountain as No. 1 seed the University of Utah “A” battles No. 8 seed Colorado Mesa University. No. 4 seed Colorado State University-vs.-No. 5 seed the Colorado School of Mines (12:40 p.m.), No. 2 seed the University of Colorado “A”-vs.-now No. 7 seed Colorado “B” (1:50 p.m.) and now No. 6 seed New Mexico-vs.-No. 3 seed the University of Utah “B” (3:00 p.m.) follow prior to the Loser of Game 2-vs.-Loser Game 1 (4:10 p.m.), Winner Game 1-vs.-Winner Game 2 (5:20 p.m.), Loser Game 4-vs.-Loser Game 3 (6:30 p.m.) and Winner Game 3-vs.-Winner Game 4 (7:40 p.m.) closing out the opening day of championship competition.
On Sunday, November 2, Loser Game 7-vs.-Loser Game 5 (8:00 a.m., Seventh Place), Winner Game 5-vs.-Winner Game 7 (9:10 a.m., Fifth Place) and Loser Game 8-vs.-Loser Game 6 (10:20 a.m., Third Place) set the stage for the Rocky Mountain Division Championship game matching the Winner of Game 6-vs.-Winner Game 8.
The victor of the Rocky Mountain Division Championship earns the No. 9 position in the field for the 2025 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship at the Carlisle Family YMCA (103 Midway Drive) in Carlisle, Pa., on Friday-Sunday, November 7-9.
