IRVINE, Calif. — A trio of hat-tricks by Aleksandar Radosavljevic, Matias Miranda and Luka Urosevic led Mount St. Mary’s University as the Mountaineers suffered an 18-14 setback at Concordia University-Irvine.

Radosavljevic led the team with three goals, three assists and a steal.  Miranda and Urosevi both recorded three goals and an assist. Urosevic also recorded one steal within the game. Giannis Skliras was able to find the back of net twice to round out the four top scorers of the team.

In the first quarter of the game, Skliras was able to dent the twine to score the first goal on the Mount side. Then Aaron Tarr deposited a shot in the net and Radosavljevic found the back of the cage off a penalty shot to move the Mount within 5-3 after the first quarter.

Miranda added a tally to the scoresheet after a pass from Radosavljevic to start the second quarter. Urosevic beat the goalie off another pass from Radosavljevic. Radosavljevic then found the back of net of another penalty shot. Miranda scored soon after from another assist credited to Radosavljevic. Miranda completed a hat-trick off a penalty shot. The final goal before ending the quarter earned Radosavljevic a hat-trick off an assist from Nikos Agritelis as the Mountaineers trailed 12-9 heading into halftime.

Starting the second half, the Mount struck first as Nathan Valentine was able to beat the goalie to put it in the cage. Urosevic deposited another shot in the net via a pass from Valentine before Skliras notched a score courtesy an assist from Miranda. The Mount trimmed its deficit to two at 14-12 heading into the final quarter.

In the final quarter, Urosevic dented the twine following a pass from Will Matthews to halt a 2-0 run by CUI. Jack Fox scored with help from Urosevic for a man-up tally, but the Mountaineers were blanked the rest of the way in falling by four goals to the Golden Eagles.

Milan Miskolczi made seven saves in taking the loss for Mount St. Mary’s.
