BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Texas Christian University informed the league the team is electing to not attend this weekend’s divisional tournament at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, as the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases a revised slate of games and streaming schedule for the weekend of Saturday-Sunday, March 25-26.
Due to being unable to attend and committing a series of “no-contests”, TCU is removed from the remainder of the league schedule, forfeits its games this weekend to Rice Unviersity, Baylor University, the University of Texas and Texas A&M University “A” to balance the standings as TCU forfeited all of its games earlier in the season as well and is unable to compete at the Texas Division Championship. Further, Texas Christian, per league rules due to committing no-contests, is barred from competing during the 2018 women’s collegiate club season.
TCU’s non-participation causes minor changes to the schedule and schedule of streams as Baylor will now face Rice in an exhibition game at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 25. Over the remainder of the first day of competition, Texas A&M “A” will meet Texas State University (12:05 p.m.), Texas A&M “B” will take on Baylor (1:10 p.m.), Texas Tech University locks up with Rice (2:15 p.m.) and Texas State University meets Texas (3:20 p.m.) prior to Texas A&M “A”-vs.-Texas Tech (4:25 p.m.), Texas A&M “B”-vs.-Texas (5:30 p.m.) and Texas State-vs.-Baylor (6:35 p.m.) rounding out the revised slate of streaming coverage. In addition, Texas-vs.-Texas Tech will occur at 7:40 p.m. with no-streaming coverage provided for the late game.
On Sunday, March 26, Texas State-vs.-Rice (11:00 a.m.) starts the day with Texas A&M “A” and Texas battling in an exhibition game at 10:05 a.m. The day concludes with three games as Baylor-vs.-Texas Tech (11:10 a.m.), Texas A&M “B”-vs.-Rice (12:15 p.m.) and Texas A&M “A”-vs.-Texas A&M “B” (1:20 p.m.) draw a close on the revised order of games.
