BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Caroline Anderson (Jr., Palo Alto, Calif./Henry M. Gunn) of No. 7-ranked the University of Michigan scored twice, dished out an assist and collected a pair of steals in a 12-6 loss to No. 3 the University of Southern California in the quarterfinals of the 2017 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Women’s Water Polo Championship hosted at the IU Natatorium on the campus of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis to collect recognition as the May 15 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Player of the Week.
The statistics raise Anderson’s season totals to 45 goals, 68 assists, 17 drawn exclusions and 46 steals in 31 games as she has compiled 140 goals, 195 assists, 70 drawn exclusions and 147 steals in 101 games since 2015.
The award marks the third weekly honor bestowed on Anderson during her three-year tenure in Ann Arbor, Mich., as she previously garnered laurels as the January 25 Rookie of the Week in 2015 prior to sharing the February 29 Player of the Week award in 2016 with Eleanor Marrs ’16 of Bucknell University.
