2018 La Salle University Men’s Water Polo Schedule
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The La Salle University men’s water polo team will host five opponents at Kirk Pool during the 2018 season, it was announced by head coach Paul Macht in conjunction with his team’s full schedule release.
The Explorers open the year at the Navy Open on the grounds of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. on Septeber 1-2, followed by the two-day Bison Invite at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., on September 15-16. The following weekend, La Salle will host 2017 MAWPC Champion George Washington University (Noon) and Navy (5:00 p.m.) in a MAWPC-East Region doubleheader on Saturday, September 22.
Four road matches over a two-week stretch at Navy (Friday, September 28, 7:00 p.m.), Johns Hopkins University (Saturday, September 29, 3:00 p.m.), George Washington (Sunday, September 30, 10:00 a.m.) and Bucknell (Saturday, October 6, 1:00 p.m.) feed into another home date on Sunday, October 7 against Wagner College at 11:00 a.m. The contest against the Seahawks begins a three-game homestand for the Explorers, with Fordham University (Saturday, October 13, 2:00 p.m.) and Johns Hopkins (Friday, October 26, 7:00 p.m.) also visiting Philadelphia.
A trip to New York City to take on Fordham (11:00 a.m.) and Wagner (3:00 p.m.) on Sunday, October 28, concludes the regular season two weeks prior to the MAWPC Championship on Friday-Sunday, November 16-18, in the Bronx at Fordham. The victor of the MAWPC Championship earns the league’s automatic berth to the 2018 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship tournament.
