BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Princeton University alum/former goalie Ashleigh Johnson continues to dominate the international stage as the 2017 graduate was part of a United States Women’s National Team squad that recorded a trio of dominating victories to capture the 2018 Vodafone Cup.
Competing at the Alfred Hajos National Swimming Stadium in Budapest, Johnson and her American compatriots topped Australia (14-4 W), Japan (18-6 W) and host Hungary (12-3 W) as Team USA outscored its foes by 44-13 differential.
Johnson appeared in one game making nine saves in the victory over Japan.
Hungary, which downed Japan (20-8 W) and Australia (9-8 W), finished second at the event, while Australia notched a Third Place finish via a 14-9 win versus Japan.
Team USA will remain in Europe as the squad prepares to compete for the Dutch Trophy against Italy, Hungary and the Netherlands starting on Wednesday, July 4, in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
