BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2018 Men’s Collegiate Club Atlantic Division schedule.
Comprised of Duke University, Georgetown University, James Madison University, Johns Hopkins University, North Carolina State University, the United States Naval Academy, the University of Maryland, the University of North Carolina, the University of Virginia, Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech) and Wake Forest University, the Atlantic Division will contest its 19th season of competition with the University of Richmond (2000), Georgetown (2001, 2002, 2005), Virginia (2003), North Carolina (2004, 2010, 2011, 2012), Virginia Tech (2006, 2007, 2009, 2017), Duke (2008, 2014, 2016) and Maryland (2013, 2015) previously claiming titles.
Competition begins on Saturday-Sunday, September 15-16, as North Carolina State hosts 10 games at Carmichael Gymnasium in Raleigh, N.C. Following a 12-game event at James Madison’s Savage Natatorium in Harrisonburg, Va., on Saturday-Sunday, September 29-30, Maryland’s Eppley Recreation Center in College Park, Md., will be the site of a 10-game tournament on Saturday-Sunday, October 6-7.
The regular season comes to a close on Saturday-Sunday, October 13-14, as Virginia Tech’s War Memorial Hall in Blacksburg, Va., serves as the site of 12 games to establish the final seeds for the 17-game Atlantic Division Championship on Saturday-Sunday, October 27-28, at Navy’s McDonough Hall in Annapolis, Md.
The victor of the division championship earns an automatic berth to the 2018 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship slated to be hosted by the University of Arizona in Tucson, Ariz., on Friday-Sunday, November 9-11.
