BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) is spotlighting the 2020 women’s seniors who had their season cut-short due to the Coronavirus. Conducted through written word or by video, the league’s intention is to recognize its membership.
Graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry, Emilija Aleksandrovic of Hartwick College will continue her academic pursuits as a graduate student at the University of Notre Dame to pursue a PhD in biochemistry.
She came to Hartwick as a Division I player from Serbia. Following the elimination of the varsity program in 2018, she took off from water polo to focus on her studies and the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). However, she returned to the sport as a member of the Hawk’ club team as a senior.
In her final season at Hartwick, she assumed the starting goalie position and anchored the Hawks to another undefeated season in New York Division competition.
