PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The Philadelphia Inquirer released its 2019-20 Academic All-Area Men’s At-Large Team with La Salle University making the list courtesy Daniel Domotor (Jr., Budapest, Hungary/Karinthy Frigyes Secondary) of the school’s men’s water polo team.
The Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Teams are voted on by the athletic communication offices of 30 institutions in the Philadelphia region. In order to be eligible for Academic All-Area consideration, an athlete must be in his or her second year at an institution and boast a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or better.
During a 6-23 season for the Explorers, including an Eighth Place finish at the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Championship hosted by Bucknell University, Domotor paced the team in goals (45), points (78) and steals (43), while finishing second in assists with 33.
His most impactful performance of the season came on October 13 as he scored to help La Salle top host the United States Naval Academy and collect the program’s inaugural victory over a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I opponent.
A 2019 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Division I All-America Honorable Mention, All-MAWPC Second Team and All-MAWPC Championship Second Team selection, the Finance and Accounting double major holds a 3.4 cumulative grade point average.
