NEW LONDON, Conn. — The Connecticut College Sports Information Office released a check-in with the Camels’ men’s water polo team as part of a continuation in a COVID-19 pandemic series.
Connecticut is spotlighting the institution’s fall and winter sports teams to get an inside look at their unique experience during the 2020 fall semester without specific games and events to prepare for at the moment.
The tenth team and seventh fall sport highlighted as part of the series, men’s water polo is currently practicing with hopes of competing during an abbreviated National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) season from late January-to-early March.
Head coach Matt Anderson as well as junior Lucas Verrilli (Evanston, Ill./Evanston) offer their perspective on the challenges the team faces amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the biggest positives that have come from their current circumstance and the goals the program has set for the fall semester.
