LEWISBURG, Pa. — Salem University completed day one of the Bucknell Invitational at Bucknell University’s Kinney Natatorium by dropping games against Wagner College, 19-13, and St. Francis College Brooklyn, 20-9.
Nikola Krstonosic and Chad Rowley both had three goals and one assist in the day’s opener versus Wagner. Carson Hick contributed two goals and one assist. Petar Leontijevic, Mike Diaz, Ivan Zivojinovic, Blake Wind and Reabetswe Theledi each had one goal a piece.
Julen Alonso had 13 saves and one steal on the day.
Five Tigers combined for the nine goals in the loss to St. Francis Brooklyn. Zivojinovic led the way with four goals and one assist with Krstonosic following with two goals and two assists. Rowley, Manuel Soto and Leontijevic each had one goal in game two. Goncalo Silva contributed 15 saves and two steals.
“Both of these teams are nationally ranked and are very well coached. We could have given up when we were down but these guys kept fighting and I am proud of them for that” said head coach Robert Bullion.
