FULLERTON, Calif. — The Department of Athletics at California State University, Fullerton, invites applications for an Assistant Women’s Water Polo Coach position with anticipated appointment to begin Fall 2022.

Position
The Water Polo program at California State University, Fullerton is a highly competitive program which competes in the NCAA Division I Big West Conference. The Assistant Water Polo Coach reports directly to the Head Water Polo Coach and they assist with coaching in this program in addition to the following duties:

  • Assist with coaching a highly competitive Water Polo program which competes in the NCAA Division I Big West Conference
  • Assist with recruiting Division I quality student-athletes
  • Assist with monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes
  • Lead, monitor, and coordinate training and practice sessions, ensuring that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained
  • Know and abide by NCAA, University, and Big West rules and regulations
  • Work in conjunction with the head coach regarding travel coordination, scheduling, and practice planning
  • Scout and conduct statistical analysis of recruits and opponents
  • Work closely with Athletics administration and staff in regards to Water Polo program responsibilities and policy compliance
  • Take an active role in marketing the Water Polo program on campus and within the community through public appearances, fundraising and promotional efforts
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Water Polo Coach

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Proven ability to recruit highly skilled student-athletes and a demonstrated commitment to their satisfactory academic progress
  • Possession of excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to interact successfully with a wide and culturally diverse range of students and to work harmoniously with students and colleagues
  • Demonstrated competitive on-court coaching ability and skills

Rank & Salary
This is a faculty bargaining unit, 12-month, full time position. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
