MORGANTOWN, W.Va. —  The No. 18-ranked Fordham University water polo team finished off a perfect weekend at the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Crossover hosted by Salem University at the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park with defeats of Gannon University, 18-9, and Mercyhurst University, 23-2.

The day began early for the Rams with a 9:00 a.m. start versus Gannon, but that did not phase Fordham which pulled out a nine-goal victory.

Leading 5-3 after the first quarter, Fordham put the pedal to the metal, netting nine second quarter markers to pull out to a 14-5 halftime lead and never looked back.

Five Rams netted hat tricks, led by Jacopo Parrella and George Papanikolaou, who each had three goals and four assists.  Nir Gross, Lucas Nieto Jasny and Balazs Berenyi also netted hat-tricks.  In net, Thomas Lercari totaled 13 saves over three quarters of action to go with two steals.

The final match of the weekend was a one-sided affair, as Fordham took down Mercyhurst, 23-2.

The Rams scored seven times in the first, six in the second, seven in the third and three in the fourth to cruise to the win.

Parrella once again led the way with four goals and three steals, while Jagger McMannis also had four markers.  Gross, Christos Loupakis, Jasny, Nacho Ariste and Mark Katsev each added a pair of goals.
