BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Shanna Davidson (Fr., Huntington Beach, Calif./Los Alamitos) of No. 7-ranked Princeton University posted six goals and four assists during a 4-0 week for the Tigers to notch kudos as the April 3 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Rookie of the Week.
A two-time Rookie of the Week selection following previous honors on February 13, she scored twice in the Tigers’ 15-12 dispatching of No. 16 Wagner College at home in DeNunzio Pool on Thursday, March 30, prior to the team hitting the road for a trio of conference games in New England.
On Saturday, April 1, at Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass., she recorded three goals for a hat-trick and snagged four steals in a 20-4 victory over Bucknell University. Later in the day at Brown University in Providence, R.I., Davidson racked up a goal and two assists as Princeton stopped Saint Francis University, 17-8.
She helped Princeton cap off the weekend by providing defensive assistance as the Tigers collected an 11-9 win versus No. 13 the University of Michigan at Brown. Courtesy the win, the squad acquired sole possession of first place in the CWPA Division I league standings.
