BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) champion Stanford University  and Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Champion Pomona-Pitzer Colleges retain the top spots as the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2023 Week 17/May 10 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 and Division III Top 10 Polls.

Voted on by a panel of coaches from the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA), the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), the Golden Coast Conference, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Big West Conference, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the CWPA based on the cumulative results of the season, the polls are compiled and released on Wednesday during the season.

2023 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 (Week 17/May 10)

Stanford University continues to lead the national scene as the Cardinal remain on top in the 2023 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Week 17/May 10 Poll.

Stanford (100 points) and the University of Southern California (96 points) remain at No. 1 and 2, while change comes at No. 3 with the University of California-Los Angeles (87 points) joining the University of California-Irvine (87 points) and the University of California (87 points) for a three-way tie at No. 3.

The University of Hawaii (82 points) and Long Beach State University (75 points) remain consistent at No. 6 and 7, respectively, with Princeton University (68 points) pulling into another tie at No. 8 with Fresno State University (68 points).

The University of California-San Diego (63 points) and the University of California-Davis (59 points) hang on at No. 10 and 11, while Harvard University (52 points) and the University of Michigan (52 points) are tied at No. 12.

University of the Pacific (50 points), the University of California-Santa Barbara (47 points), Arizona State University (43 points), Indiana University (38 points), Loyola Marymount University (30 points), San Jose State University (28 points), Long Island University (25 points) and Wagner College (22 points) rate at No. 14-to-21 with Brown University (11 points) and San Diego State University (11 points) tying at No. 22.

Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (10 points) stands at No. 24 with California State University-Northridge (8 points) and Marist College (8 points) completing the Top 25 in a tie for the final spot.

2023 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 (Week 17/May 10/Final)

Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) and USA Water Polo Division III Collegiate champion Pomona-Pitzer Colleges concludes the 2023 season at No. 1 in the Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 Week 17/May 10/Final poll.

Pomona-Pitzer (100 points), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (95 points), California Lutheran University (90 points) and the University of La Verne (84 points) hang on at No. 1-to-4, respectively, while Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) champion Augustana College (73 points) acquires company at No. 5 from the University of Redlands (73 points).

Austin College (64 points) and Whittier College (57 points) exchange the No. 7 and 8 slots with Chapman University (56 points) and Macalester College (35 points) trading the No. 9 and 10 berths.
