FUKUOKA, Japan — Former Princeton University standout Ashley Guapacha ’15 (nee Hatcher) shot one-for-three to score once and account for half of Argentina’s offense in a 21-2 loss to Greece in Group C competition at the 20th World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan.
Guapacha – who shot zero-for-one in 18 minutes of playing time for Argentina during a 27-1 loss to Italy in both teams’ opening game of the championship event – swished one-of-three shots versus Greece as she cashed in on a man-up opportunity. In addition, she chipped in a steal and captured two-of-three sprints she attempted.
Argentina will conclude Group C competition at the World Aquatics Championships at 8:00 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday, July 19, against South Africa in both squads’ final group game. Both South Africa and Argentina have yet to notch a victory in Group C.
