BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2023 Men’s Collegiate Club Top 20 and Division III Top 10 Preseason Polls.

Released each week during the season, the Top 20 and Division III Top 10 polls have no bearing on qualifiers for either the National Collegiate Club Championship or the Division III Collegiate Club Championship.

2023 Men’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 (Preseason)

2022 Men’s National Collegiate Club Champion the University of California-San Diego commences the 2023 season at No. 1 as the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2023 Men’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 Preseason rankings.

The poll follows the final voting of 2022 as the Tritons (100 points), California Polytechnic State University (93 points), the University of Michigan (91 points), Washington University in St. Louis (86 points), the University of California (80 points), the University of Colorado (72 points), Pennsylvania State University (68 points), McKendree University (61 points) and Dartmouth College (59 points) rate at No. 1-to-9 with the University of California-Los Angeles (50 points) and the University of Florida (50 points) tying for 10th.

Michigan State University (47 points), the University of Alabama (36 points), the University of Texas (34 points), the University of Washington (31 points), the University of Virginia (23 points), San Diego State University (15 points) hold down the No. 12-to-17 slots with the duo of Oregon State University (13 points) and the United States Military Academy (13 points) deadlocked at No. 18.

The University of Utah (10 points) completes the Top 20.

The 2023 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship will be decided in a yet to be disclosed site on Friday-Sunday, November 10-12.

2023 Men’s Division III Collegiate Club National Top 10 (Preseason)

Seven-time defending Division III Collegiate Club National Champion Washington University in St. Louis begins the year at No. 1 in the 2023 Preseason Men’s Division III Collegiate Club National Top 10 Poll.

Washington – which also ranks at No. 4 in the Preseason Top 20 Poll – possesses a 12-point lead over both Tufts University (88 points) and Middlebury College (88 points) as the duo are tied at No. 2. 

Amherst College (84 points), Colby College (83 points), Macalester College (77 points), the United States Coast Guard Academy (73 points), Grinnell College (73 points), Carnegie Mellon University (52 points) and Wesleyan University (48 points) complete the Preseason Division III Top 10.
