BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Jack Burghardt (Fr., Manhattan Beach, Calif./Harvard-Westlake) of No. 10-ranked Harvard University put up trios of goals, assists and steals during a 2-0 league weekend for the Crimson at home in Blodgett Pool to earn acknowledgment as the November 6 Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Rookie of the Week.
A three-time Rookie of the Week honoree following prior recognition on September 4 and October 23, Burghardt accounted for a goal, two assists and a steal in a 14-13 defeat of No. 19 Brown University on Saturday, November 4. In the regular season finale for the Crimson on Sunday, November 5, he stuffed in a pair of goals, dished out an assist and collected two steals as Harvard took down Cambridge, Mass., rival Division III No. 5 the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) by a 17-11 count.
