BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Julia Derunes (Sr., San Diego, Calif./Westview) of No. 9-ranked the University of California-San Diego tallied 11 goals, seven assists, five steals and a trio of field blocks during a 4-0 weekend for the Tritons at the University of California-Davis Invitational on Saturday-Sunday, February 3-4. For her performance, Derunes is named the February 5 Women’s Collegiate Club Southwest Division Player of the Week.
She helped UC-San Diego dispatch No. 16 the University of California-Santa Barbara (9-6 W), No. 11 San Diego State University (15-8 W), No. 10 UC-Davis “A” (14-6 W) and No. 12 California Polytechnic State University “A” (11-6 W) to garner status as an early season favorite to capture the 2024 Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship title.
