BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Emese Szucs (Sr., Budapest, Hungary) of Saint Francis University racked up 12 goals, two assists and three steals during four games in California to register March 11 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Player of the Week recognition.

A two-time weekly honor recipient from the league office following the April 5, 2021 Rookie of the Week acknowledgement, the 2021 CWPA Rookie of the Year opened the Red Flash’s West Coast swing by burying six goals as Saint Francis rolled Division III No. 10-ranked the University of Redlands by a 16-7 score on Thursday, March 7.  A day later at Whittier College, she scored once in a 16-6 defeat of the host/Division III No. 9 Poets and accounted for four more strikes in a 17-6 victory over Division III No. 3 the University of La Verne on Friday, March 8.

On Saturday, March 9, she concluded her week by scoring once, handing out an assist and drawing an exclusion in a 22-6 defeat at No. 5 the University of Southern California.
