2025 Women’s Collegiate Club Southeast Division Schedule
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases changes to the 2025 Women’s Collegiate Club Southeast Division schedule.
Comprised of Emory University, Florida State University, the Georgia Institute of Technology, the University of Alabama, the University of Central Florida, the University of Florida “A” and the University of Florida “B”, the division will contest its 23rd season of competition in 2025.
In the history of the division, Florida (2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2022), Central Florida (2009, 2010, 2013, 2015, 2017) and Florida State (2023, 2024) have combined for the previous 22 championships. A Southeast Division champion was not crowned during either the 2020 or 2021 seasons due to the COVID-19 pandemic terminating the completion and start of the campaigns, respectively.
Competition begins on Saturday-Sunday, January 25-26, at Florida State in Tallahassee, Fla., with the first change occurring on the opening weekend. Due to snow and ice in the Atlanta metro region, both Emory University and the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) are unable to make the trip to Florida State. The schedule is therefore revised to a 10-game event with Florida “A”, Florida “B”, Alabama, Central Florida and the host Seminoles.
The 14-game regular season finale weekend at Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Saturday-Sunday, February 22-23, remains unchanged causing a change for the seeding at the 11-game Southeast Division Championship slated for Saturday-Sunday, March 29-30, at Emory in Atlanta, Georgia.
Due to the teams competing in an unequal number of games – as Georgia Tech and Emory will contest fewer regular season contests – seeding for the Southeast Division Championship will occur based on winning percentage compared to points.
The victor of the Southeast Division Championship earns the group’s automatic berth to the 2025 Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship on Friday-Sunday, April 11-13, at a site to be determined.
