BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Khloe Riordan (Gr., Lake Mary, Fla./Lake Mary) of Florida State University posted 14 goals and 22 steals during a 3-1 run by the Seminoles at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Ala., to clinch the division’s No. 2 regular season finish and earn individual cachet as the February 24 Women’s Collegiate Club Southeast Division co-Player of the Week.
She shares the honor with University of Central Florida goalkeeper Lucia Cordero (Fr., Orlando, Fla./Lake Howell) who stopped 46 shots with an assist and seal during a 2-2 weekend for the Knights.
Riordan aided the Seminoles in topping the Central Florida (7-4 W), the Georgia Institute of Technology (15-6 W) and the host Crimson Tide (16-6 W) to go along with a narrow loss to Southeast Division regular season champion/No. 14-ranked the University of Florida “A” (10-9 L) which determined the No. 1 seed for the division championship on Saturday-Sunday, March 29-30, at Emory in Atlanta, Georgia.
Against Florida “A”, she accounted for six of FSU’s nine goals as the team wrapped up the regular season with a 6-2 record to edge out Central Florida for the championship’s No. 2 seed in spite of the defeat.
