BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — University of Michigan rising senior Isabelle (Issy) Jackson (Auckland, New Zealand/Diocesan Schools for Girls) is among 13 athletes selected to represent New Zealand at the 2025 International University Sports Federation (FISU) World University Games in Rhine-Ruhr Germany on July 16-27.
A 2025 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) All-Conference and CWPA Championship Second Team selection, Jackson has 63 goals, 43 assists, 28 drawn exclusions, 134 steals and 31 field blocks over the span of 85 games during the 2023-to-2025 seasons for Michigan to help the Wolverines post a 63-32 mark with second (2024) and third (2023, 2025) place finishes at the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Championship.
She has prior international experience as a member of the 2024 New Zealand roster for the World Aquatics Championships in Doha, Qatar after serving as New Zealand’s team captain for the U20 World Championships in Coimbra, Portugal, canceled World Beach Games in Bali, and Water Polo World Cup in Long Beach, Calif., in 2023.
Prior to her time in Ann Arbor, she traveled to France and Hungary as a reserve for the New Zealand Women’s team for the 2022 FINA World Championships, was part of her nation’s FINA World Youth and Junior Championships rosters which were impacted by COVID-19 in 2020-2021. Further, she traveled to France and Greece as part of the 2002-born New Zealand Youth Tour Team that competed at the 2019 Pythia Cup in Greece, while also competing in Australia as part of the New Zealand School Girls team in a 2019 test series. Jackson also competed as part of the New Zealand Schools Girls development team in 2018.
