BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Maddie Gimby (Fr., Wilton, Conn./Wilton) of Florida State University “A” totaled 18 goals, six assists and eight steals during a 4-0 weekend for the Seminoles in Southeast Division action at home in Tallahassee, Fla., to claim the division’s February 23 Player of the Week award.
FSU – which concludes its Southeast Division regular season schedule with a 6-2 mark to clinch the No. 2 seed for the division championship on Saturday-Sunday, April 4-5, at home in the Morcom Aquatic Center – received four, two and five goals, respectively, from Gimby on Saturday, February 21, as the Seminoles rolled to wins over the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech, 21-4 W), Florida Atlantic University (22-3 W) and the University of Alabama (18-2 W). On Sunday, February 22, she closed out her team’s regular season docket by scoring six times – including four fourth quarter markers – as FSU took down the University of Central Florida “A” by a 15-9 count.
