BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Megan Newby (Fr., Atherton, Calif./Sacred Heart Preparatory) of No. 23-ranked Brown University scored three times during a West Coast trip for the Bears to earn status as the March 30 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Rookie of the Week.
Following a 12-7 loss at No. 7 Loyola Marymount University on Wednesday, March 25, she accounted for a goal in a 12-5 loss at No. 17 San Diego State University on Friday, March 27. On Saturday, March 28, at the University of California-San Diego, she scored twice in a 17-13 loss to No. 15 the University of California-Davis prior to the Bears taking a 21-16 setback versus the host/No. 16 Tritons.
