PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The No. 20-ranked Brown University men’s water polo team improved to 10-2 as the Bears dominated Connecticut College, 16-8, and Concordia University-Irvine, 15-12, at home in the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center during the 2026 Bruno Classic.
Taking on Connecticut, the Bears took an early lead in the first quarter by outclassing the Camels by a 6-1 count with five different goal scorers. Ramzi Megalli, Dominik Balla and Willem Anton each found the back of the net in the first eight minutes. Oliver Chu scored his first two collegiate goals, while Filip Josipovic and Balla extended Brown’s lead as the home squad closed out the first half leading 8-2.
Brown did not let up offensively by scoring six more in the final quarter of the game. Balla earned a fourth-quarter hat-trick, while Trey Rogers and Jeremy Tachiki netted one each. Anton earned a hat-trick as well, the first of his career, and Andrew Gao wrapped up the scoring for the Bears with his second of the season.
The Bears returned to the pool in the afternoon to take on Concordia.
Megalli opened up the scoring for Brown once again, followed by Máté Tymcyna‘s first goal of the day. Brown led 6-2 after the first quarter with six different goal scorers including Colton Bell, Berry and Balla.
Balla scored two more quick goals to start the second quarter by notching his sixth tally of the day and earning his second hat-trick. Tymcyna also recorded a hat-trick before the end of the first half as the Bears entered the final half leading 10-7.
Roland Csendes and Jaxson Tierney contributed to the Brown offense, while Griffin Tunney found the back of the net twice in the second half. Dimitrios Kratimenos scored his team’s final goal to close out a 15-12 victory.
