BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Former Yale University athlete and coach Andy Lewandowski ’92 has seen the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) grow from a few teams into a league encompassing hundreds of programs.

A high school All-America and four-time All-Ivy League selection when he played at Yale, Lewandowski coached the institution’s men’s and women’s water polo teams from 2002 to 2015 with 20 All-America athletes in the collegiate club ranks during his tenure.

The 2011 National Coach of the Year for leading Yale to the title game of the Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship, he helped the men’s team at his alma mater to six Top 10 finishes at Nationals during his coaching tenure.  USA Water Polo honored him in 2018 with the Ted Newland Distinguished Coaching Award for his dedication to the sport of water polo.

Now, he is asking athletes, coaches and fans – past and present – to consider a gift to the league to help the CWPA provide the level of support and service which has become the norm for the organization.
