BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Abby Andrews (Fr., Indooroopilly, Australia/Brisbane Girl’s Grammar School) of No. 6-ranked the University of Michigan registered five goals, eight assists, eight steals and a field block at the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Championship hosted by Brown University to earn honors as the April 29 CWPA Division I Rookie of the Week.

A six-time Rookie of the Week selection with previous honors on January 21, February 4, February 11, March 4 and March 25, she helped the Wolverines down No. 21 Harvard University (14-7 W) and No. 15 Princeton University (10-6 W) to capture the program’s fourth consecutive CWPA Championship.

The CWPA Rookie of the Year, a first team All-Tournament selection and the Rookie of the Tournament, Andrews matched U-M records for single-game assists (four) and points (seven) in the CWPA Championship Tournament.

She posted a career high four steals in both contests and netted three goals with four assists in helping dispatch Harvard in the tournament semifinals.

Facing Princeton in the league title game, she tallied two goals, four assists and went 2-0 on sprints to key the Maize & Blue to the program’s ninth (2002, 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019) CWPA Championship title.
