NEW YORK, N.Y. — Amherst College collegiate club alumna Bobbi Mason was the featured guest on the New York Athletic Club Water Polo President’s Interview with Anthony La Sala.

A 2013 graduate of Amherst with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Asian Languages and Civilizations, Mason was part of the varsity swim team, the Amherst Social Council, the club water polo and softball teams along with the Amherst Dance Troupe and Japanese Garden Cleaner.  Further, she received The Doshisha Asian Studies Prize for her senior honors thesis, “Remembering, Rebuilding, Redefining Hiroshima: The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park.”

She is currently employed as an Assistant Director of Admission for Syracuse University covering the metropolitan areas of Brooklyn and Manhattan.  Currently in her third year with Syracuse, she previously served as Associate Director of Admission for Hobart and William Smith Colleges during the 2017-2018 academic year following a three and a half year tenure at Merkley + Partners as a Media Planner, Assistant Media Planner and Ad Operations Specialist.

Prior to entering the corporate world, Mason worked as a Mellon Research Fellow at Amherst during the 2012-13 academic year she she analyzed and logged archived documents regarding early humanitarian efforts during the Armenian Genocide.
She created a database of national governing organizations (NGOs) working in Turkey and/or providing earthquake relief and collaborated with other fellows in organizing research.
